2014 RACE RULES
The Edmonton Classic is expanding! This year it will include sending all birds that return from the Edmonton Classic to the Alberta Open to be held September 20, 2014. Your birds will have 4 races. A 100 mile, A 200 Mile, The 300 Mile Edmonton Classic and The 380 Mile Alberta Open. This should be a true test of your birds.
Entry Fee: Team of 5 birds for $1,000.00 (A single bird may be entered for $300). Or $200 per bird after a team of 5. Of the 1,000.00, $400 will be perch fees and $600.00 will be divided as follows: $100 Alberta Open Prize Money and $334 towards The Edmonton Classic Race prize money and $166 towards the Ace Birds Award. There will be 4 ways to earn prize money:
Average Speed will be the 100, 200, 300 miles (Alberta Open not included in the Average Speed Races)
"Knock Out" - Optional - Entry fee $75 per bird due by night of shipping 100 Mile Race. Only the first 50% of the birds entered in the "Knock Out" Series will be eligible for the next race. All Places will be determined by clocking order.
"2 Bird Team Average Speed" - Optional - Entry fee $100 per two bird team due by night of shipping 100 Mile Race. Two birds must clock in each race to maintain eligibility.
Please ship birds between 40 – 50 days of age. We hope this will help with reducing stress on young birds which should in turn decrease the young bird sickness. We will accept birds from May 1st to the 16th. As before, please arrange to ship birds on Fridays if at all possible. If delivering birds, just phone ahead any day of the week.

Birds will remain the property of the flyer, there will be no buy-back. After the final race birds will be shipped back to the owner at the owner’s expense.
Birds will be medicated (on pro biotics) and will be race banded (chipped) upon arrival. Please do not vaccinate before shipping
Training results and inventories will be posted on the web site
Only accepting 300 Birds
If there are any disputes they will be settled by the race committee.
All birds in the 1st drop are equal First and share equally in the accumulated prize money. After the first drop all prizes will be determined by electronic clocking order.
Pools will be paid out based on Electronic clocking order.
